Project Details

Young men from all over Broadland enlisted or were conscripted into the armed forces. Our stories tell us about a Stalham butcher serving in Salonika and his future brother in law who was killed in France, a wounded soldier, and what life was like in the trenches. We also discover the job of a soldier engaged in ‘rummaging’.
